You have a domain name of contoso.com registered at a third-party registrar.
You need to ensure that you can create Azure AD users that have names containing a suffix of @contoso.com.
To ensure that you can create Azure AD users that have names containing a suffix of @contoso.com, you need to perform the following steps:
Verify the domain name in Azure AD:
a. In the Azure portal, go to Azure Active Directory.
b. Click on Custom domains in the Manage section.
c. Click on Add custom domain.
d. Enter contoso.com and click on Add domain name.
Verify the domain name with the third-party registrar:
a. In the Azure portal, click on the newly added domain name.
b. Click on Manage DNS records.
c. Note down the TXT and MX record values provided by Azure.
d. Go to the website of the third-party registrar where the domain is registered.
e. Add the TXT and MX records to the DNS zone file for the domain.
Create user accounts with the suffix of @contoso.com:
a. In the Azure portal, go to Azure Active Directory.
b. Click on Users in the Manage section.
c. Click on New user.
d. Enter the user details, including the username with the suffix of @contoso.com.
Verify the domain name for the user accounts:
a. In the Azure portal, go to Azure Active Directory.
b. Click on Custom domains in the Manage section.
c. Click on Verify next to the contoso.com domain name.
d. Follow the steps to verify the domain ownership.
Once you have completed these steps, you can create Azure AD users that have names containing a suffix of @contoso.com.
