The statement is true. When a Lead is converted in Salesforce, by default, the information from the Lead will be used to create a new Contact and Opportunity record. The Campaign information associated with the Lead will also be transferred to the new Contact and Opportunity records, if the Lead was associated with a Campaign.

Here's what happens during the Lead conversion process:

  1. When you convert a Lead, Salesforce creates a new Account and Contact record based on the information from the Lead. If an existing Account and Contact match the information in the Lead, Salesforce will associate the new Contact with the existing Account.

  2. Salesforce also creates a new Opportunity record and associates it with the new Account and Contact records. If the Lead was associated with a Campaign, the Campaign information will be transferred to the new Opportunity record.

  3. You can also choose to associate the converted Lead with an existing Opportunity, Account, or Contact, or to create a new record for any of these objects.

  4. The Lead record itself will be converted to a new record type called "Converted Lead" and will no longer be editable.

So, in summary, if a Lead is associated with a single marketing Campaign and is converted, the Campaign information will automatically map to the newly created Contact and Opportunity records.
