FILL BLANK - What happens if a WF task is assigned to a role containing more than one person?
See the answer below.
The owner of the record that triggered the rule becomes the task assignee.
If a workflow (WF) task is assigned to a role that includes more than one person, then each person in that role will receive a separate copy of the task. This means that each person can take action on the task individually, and the task will remain open until all assigned users have completed it.
When a workflow rule is triggered, it looks for users who have been assigned the specified role in the task assignment. If there are multiple users in the role, each user will receive a separate task record. The task owner can then take action on their copy of the task, and when all assigned users have completed their tasks, the workflow rule will be considered complete.
It's worth noting that if a role is specified in a task assignment, and no users are currently assigned to that role, then the task will remain unassigned until a user is added to the role. Additionally, if a user is removed from the role after the task has been assigned, then the user's copy of the task will be removed and the task will remain assigned to the remaining users in the role.
